Backpacks are mobile and practical

These emergency kit models provide something easy and ready to buy right off the shelf.  Modifications to reflect your circumstances can usually be made with ease, if you desire.

All containers pictured are currently available for separate purchase, and all contents items are available for open stock purchase, so you can also build your own.

Some of our customers also like to make an appointment to come in with their existing kits that need updating.  We take their old kits apart, discuss the issues, and help them rebuild them right on the spot with fresh supplies.  This is an approach that can help you be confident your kit is ready for when the time comes, and often can save you money as well.

Family Kit - Recommended by Gro-Organic

Four-Person Family Kit:
So compact, so organized, and on WHEELS!  This amazing kit is a wonderful kit for a home situation, and provides a great selection in one container, for up to three days, for an entire family.  The supply selection supports both earthquake and shelter-in-place emergencies.  It can also be placed in the trunk in a brushfire or other similar type of emergency that may require quick evacuation.  Some facilities managers also choose these kits to support small command teams.
Everything is organized by layer.  Among other things, the top interior tray contains those items you are likely to need first: gas shut-off wrench, flashlights, gloves, goggles and N95 masks.  Small compartments in the lid provide spark-free lighting for immediate use, as well as organize some of the needed first aid items that are physically small, but which might otherwise get lost in the larger compartments.  The bottom cavity holds such things as Coast Guard Approved food and water (5-year shelf life), sheltering supplies, tube tents, sanitation items, heavy-duty BOCA-approved duct tape, and more first aid and medical supplies.
Retail price:  $359.00.
Special Offer:  See also the "Six, Set, Go!" Prepare By The Month Plan that will ship components of your kit automatically each month for six months, with an approved payment plan.

Two-Person Tote-Able:

This toolbox kit includes a full range of both basics and extras for two people in a manageable size.  Includes all of the basic Coast Guard Approved food and water rations, blankets, spark-free lights, first aid, body protection, etc.  It also adds collapsible cups, ecologically sound toileting kits, waterproof matches, multi-blade campknife, solar-dynamo radio that never needs batteries, survival whistle, simple hygiene kits, and a combination crowbar-gas shut-off wrench.

Virtually all contents have either a permanent or 5-year shelf life, with the exception of the first aid medications, which just have shorter shelf lives that we cannot control.  (Most medications should be replaced between the 3rd and 4th year, and are available for very low cost from our open stock inventory.)

Note:  Actual colors and style of toolbox may vary according to seasonal availability.

Retail Price:  $169.00

Sweet Basics!
Economical and compact boxed kit with Coast Guard Approved food and water, with a five-year shelf life, and an emergency blanket.   We can add other things, but sometimes that can result in mixing items with varying shelf lives.  So, why would you want to have to break the seal and refurbish in year four?  Bulk buyers especially will probably prefer to add lightsticks and other things on the side.
Each of these kits supports one individual.  For those who love "sweet and simple" this is IT!
Retail prices:
True Two-Day Kit:  $ 11.50
True Three-Day Kit:  $ 13.75
Bulk pricing discounts are available.  Please call for quotation.

One Person Support Kit:

Packed in bright red, insulated lunch cooler, this one will always have at least food, water and a blanket.  The water ration will always be 12 pouches in this one, or the minimum supply for one person for up to 3 days.  However, the food ration size may vary in order to make room for other items, and because food is usually the least important item in a kit.  We add other items or change the mix on this one to suit your application and budget.  This size fits nicely in a desk or file drawer and is often chosen as an office support kit.

This kit is not as convenient as a backpack when considering something for your car;  however it does have a sturdy carrying strap and because the size is small, there is less worry about building up too much weight.

Please remember that the selections below are only samples of possible contents.  We would be glad to add other items or change the mix as long as there is room in the container.

Retail prices:
  1. Water, 3-day food ration, blanket, and 12-hour yellow lightstick:  $ 18.00  (Add $1.50 each for additional lightsticks)
  2. Water, 3-day food ration, blanket, mini-flashlight with batteries, and one set of extra batteries:  $ 21.00
  3. Water, 2-day food ration, blanket, 12-hour yellow lightstick, extra-heavy duty trash bags, personal tissues, sanitary hand wipes, leather-palmed gloves, vented goggles & one N95 particulate mask:  $ 26.00
  4. Water, 3-day food ration, blanket, spark-free flashlight with batteries, and one extra set of batteries (all of our "D" batteries are extra-heavy duty industrial versions with a six to seven year shelf life):  $ 28.50

Bulk pricing discounts are available for 20 units or more.

Economy Backpack:
This bright red nylon economy backpack has lightly padded shoulder straps, and has sufficient room to add in sturdy shoes, medications or other personal items that may be needed.  It is packed with these basics: It contains CGA water and food for up to three-days, an emergency blanket, one spark-free flashlight with batteries, one extra set of alkaline batteries (long-life-2011), one spark-free, 12-hour yellow lightstick, one home/auto first aid kit (minimum 85 pieces), one pair of leather-palmed gloves with safety cuff, one pair of vented goggles, two N95 particulate masks, one personal pack of tissues, three antibacterial hand-wipes, two heavy-duty trash bags (to sit on if ground is wet), and one emergency poncho.

Retail prices:

Model A:  Supports one person, items listed above:  $68.00 each

Model B:  Support TWO persons by adding extra water, food, blanket, poncho and goggles to the contents above, for only $ 88.00 each.  (However, this will make for a heavier backpack, and it will have much less room for personal items.)

Bulk pricing available.  Please call for quotation.

A Small But Critical Difference

Car Cabin Mini-Kit

This kit was developed in an answer to the Buck Helm story from the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.  Helm was the last living survivor pulled from the freeway collapse days after the earthquake.  While everyone was jubilant to find someone still alive, it is little known that he became a statistic not too long thereafter.  Why?  The answer may surprise you --- not from his direct injuries, but because of lack of water while he was trapped.  Dehydration pushed him into organ failure.

An emergency kit in the trunk has its purposes, but there are occasions when having water, a blanket, and signaling devices close at hand could help you in an entrapment situation or when it's just plain too dangerous to get out of your car cabin immediately.  Perhaps you ski, and have a mechanical breakdown or run off the road in a snowstorm?

This car cabin mini-kit has an emergency blanket, two pouches of the Coast Guard Approved water with a five-year shelf life (even in the heat of the vehicle), a whistle on a lanyard, and a 12-hour spark-free lightstick.  The latter two items are good for signaling rescuers, and the blanket may be crucial if you are injured, or to prevent hypothermia.

This inexpensive kit, packed in plain clear bag, could save your life if kept within reach of the driver's seat.  It also makes excellent safety incentive gifts in corporate and government agency environments.

Kit price:  $6.50 each
