Family & Neighborhood Preparedness Programs:
Get together with extended family or a neighborhood watch group to learn together how to prepare for disasters.
You will learn very practical things .... e.g. we'll walk you through formulas for figuring out how much emergency water
is right for your situation, and present the advantages and disadvantages of various products and ways to do
things. You will learn how to set priorities on what to do first.
You will learn techniques you can use to save money on preparedness, other techniques for coping with limitations
during disasters, and you will have an up close opportunity to ask any questions you have on your mind.
The subtopics can be almost as wide-ranging as your group needs to have, or is ready to hear.
Program formats are available in time increments between one and three hours. The three hour workshops
are best done on a Saturday morning or afternoon. Some extended family or smaller neighborhood watch groups will sometimes
enjoy observing a limited residential consultation for the host family, including the locating and instructions on utility
shut-offs, and similar practical steps. We can also work with neighborhoods to help develop a group response plan.
When disaster strikes you will likely get to know your neighbors much better than you know them at the moment.
